- To encourage students to participate in the governance, direction and activities of their Union.
- To seek the views and needs of all students and act in their best interests through providing services in the Union and representation to the University.
- Assist and support in all aspects of University and community life.
- Provide opportunities to enable students to develop transferable skills and broaden their potential.
- Act as the focal point for social, cultural and recreational activities to create student interaction and social development.
- To acknowledge student diversity and promote equality in all areas of student life.
