If you are lucky enough to be living in either Bede Halls or New Wharf you might be aware of the Student Switch Off poster which is in your Kitchen. This is an inter hall and energy saving competition encouraging you to;

Leicester City Council have provided a recycling scheme in all University owned halls and large blue bags can be found in your kitchens to help carry all that heavy glass to the recycling bins. Ask in your reception area where your bins are located, most are fairly visible.
The Blue bins ask for paper;
• Newspapers
• Magazines
• Junk Mail
• White/office paper
• Shredded paper
• Catalogues and brochures
• Directories including
Yellow Pages
The Blue bins say NO to;
• Carrier bags
• Envelopes
• Cardboard
The Yellow bins ask for plastic bottles;
• Milk bottles
• Shampoo bottles
• Water bottles
• ‘Pop’ or soft drink bottles
• Washing up liquid bottles
The Yellow bins say NO to;
• Lids
• Carrier bags
• Food packaging
The White bins ask for;
• Glass bottles any colour
• Glass jars any colour
The White bins say NO to;
• Flat glass
• Pyrex
• Light bulbs
• Fluorescent tubes
