Minutes Of Trustee Board 14 October 2008
The Trustee Board ensures DSU runs as a sustainable organisation. The Board will oversee the running of DSU, the services we offer, the running of financial operations and the employment of staff.
The Board set the strategic direction and ensure good governance of the Union. The Board will only be involved in representational issues were it to have a large impact on the reputaution, legal or financing of the union.
Who is on the Trustee Board?
The Trustee Board is made up of the full time Executive Officers, 4 Student Trustees and 4 externally appointed Trustees.
The external Trustees are co-opted onto the Board through an Appointments Committee made up of student representatives. External Trustees offer a wide range of skills and advise to aid advancing the position of DSU. We look to fill Finance, Legal, Human Resources and Marketing remits to ensure the optimum advice and skills.
The 4 students are elected and are designed for students who may not be traditionally be involved or able to run for the full time positions. Positions include open places, the Chair of Student Council and the Academic Board representative.
